Small Holidays

The fambly have arrived from OS, my bro's fambly. So we went to Central Coast & rented a beach house for 8 ppl. Its very nice, bit crap in some ways like there is nowhere enough light to read except if u stand under the fluoro in the kitchen. But we not there to read, we there to be tortured by the kiddies, who are now grown enough to decide throwin cushions at me & trying to crush me to death for an hour straight at a time is a good thing to do. Luckily i readily outweigh them both by a factor of 2000 so i am ok - this time. We are also there to walk down the back yard & out the gate & across the lane to the estuary where there are seats on the edge of the water & see all the ducks looking hopeful for bread & then also walk up the street to the huge surf beach with massive headlands either side. Nowhere else i been is it so obvious that we walk on sand made of the same rock as the headlands, as its a golden colour & quite gritty. The headlands are a golden brown colour & sprinkled with modern architecture. Well guys, one day.... long after yer dead.... your houses will be never & yr headland will be toast. Imagine the property prices that far in the future. Ah a sydney trait that eh.

The house must be often used by tourists as there are 4 kookaburras & some cockatoos & parrots & many other creatures hanging round the balcony expecting a handout. Some just take what they feel is theirs & mum shriek very loud when she unwisely walked out there with a bit of carrot cake in her hand & dive bombed by a burra that snapped her bit of cake clean in half. I went to scare it away & to move it took nothin short of pushing it off the balcony railing using my foot on its chest. Blimey silly lookin things close up. Well fed though.

The place has a plethora of fire making areas & places to sit. there are about 5 or 6 sets of table & chairs scenarios set out over the property outside & 3 or 4 different BBQs & some fire holding devices in various states of neglect. One BBQ is enough tho & there is one that definitely works & we used it. There is a nice glass fronted fireplace inside & an indoor fire is such a nice thing that i reckon i will be wanting one in my own mansion one day. The best luxury.

Surprisingly i actually relaxed while i was there. I can't remember relaxing anyplace ever before. (Last weeks inner city relaxin business was more like plain old exhaustion.) Also i had dreams & i haven't had any for ages. So anyway if i had got to stay there more than 3 days i might have become all holidayed right the hell out & floppy & soft & loose & like a leaf in the breeze kinda thing. Can't have that can we. As it was tho, i needed to come back to do some work & get to the foundry so i left em there & come back to Sydney for mid week. I'll go back for the last day cos we can't all fit in 1 car.
