Beer & sittings

Once again a mate come over & forced me to sit & drink beer (terrible!) and we picked out some issues. She left & there it was 100% better than before. Amazing. Cos just a shoulder angle can do that. Just a bit here n there & its all the difference between being dead & zombie like & being flexible & alive. Needs a bit more of that though so keep the visits comin :)

Today i added another few bags of clay to his flouncy pants. Yes, there is no end to how much clay you can add to a pair of flouncy pants & they still look a bit skinny - i had never realised how much, though i had feared. The torso is a bit out of sorts... after a day of cutting off & shaving & forming those RHS ribs, the ones under his upstretched arm, well as i was finishing up for the day i did some hacky drawing on it with a knife. This got me some indications of where the movement & life might come from when i cut more off. However i'd been doing just that all day... so instead of that i just added some massive slabs of clay - sure enough it come alive in the ribs. Well i'll be hornswoggled. How come, when you think you want to cut more off, you really should throw more on? Shouldn't such a thing be more obvious? Never fails to surprise. Except it happens so much it hardly surprises anymore. I need to pay attention though, cos there will come a point where i actually understand it & can file it away - i hope. Would certainly save some time.

I chucked on a head like shape so he had a head when my friend come for a beer. I threw it all up there to make some vague face & head shape & made the neck more necky. It had only half a head from the back, like some Torchwood expendable character it looked like it had copped an explosive round in the head. But she commented later the head was good. I was shocked, but then i looked at it & thought hey its ok eh. Thats lovely when that happens, that is :) Not to worry i will bugger it up again. She said the arse looked a bit strange & i defended it as being just like in the picture & then after she had gone I realised the arse was rubbish & cut it off. Damn capricious i am eh wot.

Anyway as darkness fell (about 4.30, bloody winter) some gallery freak was coming to see another artist in the place & so i covered the big feller up & left. No need to get anyone seeing it who shouldn't. Never trust a gallery type anyways.

Listening: Torchwood "Slow Decay" audio book. Doctor Who audio books. Neil Gaiman's "The Graveyard Book" audio book. Long day, eh.
